Donate Positive – WordPress
Donation Plugin Features
We’re really proud of what we’ve built for our charity users, and we wanted to highlight every feature one by one so you know exactly what you’ll benefit from by using our WordPress donation plugin.
Here is a deep dive into what features your charity can benefit from using the Donate Positive WordPress donation plugin.
WordPress Donation plugin comes with:
Donor Friendly Donation Form
We speak from experience when it comes to WordPress donation forms, they can either be really difficult to setup or clunky and slow. So, we made our donation form easy to setup, customise to fit any charity website theme and easy to apply to any page with a simple WordPress shortcode.
You can setup a campaign in minutes and then copy and paste the shortcode generated for that campaign onto a new page or post and our modern donation form will appear like magic!
Ability to add labels on Donation Amounts
Not all campaigns are the same, sometimes you may have a campaign that is raising set amounts. For example, food packs, for campaigns like this we’ve made it so you can easily add labels on each donation amount.
Gift Aid
This is an important one for charities registered in England & Wales. We’ve integrated the Gift Aid declaration right into our donation form and it activates when you enter your registered charity number.
And don’t worry, we also included the Gift Aid reporting function to the charity admin dashboard. Which means you can easily download your Gift Aid donation reports in the exact format required to submit it to HMRC to claim Gift Aid.
Fee Recovery
Even though we do not charge a percentage on donations like other WordPress donation plugins. Card transactions always have card processing fee charged by the merchant (like Stripe, PayPal, WorldPay).
Donors are incredibly generous and statistically around 80% of donors are happy to cover the cost of card processing fees, which on average in the UK work out around 1.4% + 20p.
Our WordPress donation plugin has the feature built in to allow donors to easily tick a box to cover transaction fees, this means your charity receives 100% of the intended donation.
Email Reminders for failed donations
We’ve all done it, decided to make a donation and then got distracted. Our WordPress donation form sends email reminders to anyone who has started the process of making a donation and then didn’t complete.
Emailed Donor Receipts
After every donation, your donors will get an email receipt automatically sent to them. To make it more personal, you can include your charity logo via the admin dashboard. So, all receipts will be delivered with your charity logo and email automatically.
Recurring Monthly donations
We know this is a real important feature for charities. Donors can easily choose from a one-time donation to a monthly donation by toggling the button on the donation form. This automatically sets up a monthly donation subscription via Stripe for your donors.
Mobile Optimised
This is a no brainer, with 64% of website users being mobile browsers, it is a must to have a website and donation function that works seamlessly on mobile devices.
And of course, this comes with the option for your donors to donate using Apple Pay and Google Pay.
0% fees on your donations
We never skim off the top of your donations and we never will. With the Donate Positive WordPress donation plugin charities can either pay £15 per month (with cancellation anytime) or £99 per year (with 30-day money back guarantee). For this they will get ALL the plugin features with no need to upgrade to a “Pro” plan.
On top of this, charities that download our plugin, they will benefit for all future updates as a part of their subscription.
Donor Leaderboards
This is a great way to make your donors feel special and add a little bit of gamification to your campaign.
All campaigns have the leaderboard function automatically included, but we’ve left it to the charity to decide which campaigns they want to publish the leaderboard on.
Each time you create a new campaign, a WordPress shortcode is generated to copy and paste on to any page to display that campaigns leaderboard.
Shortcodes
I know, I know, I’ve mentioned shortcodes a few times already. But here is a quick description of what shortcodes are.
WordPress shortcodes are compact, bracketed text tags (e.g., [ gallery ]) that act as placeholders. They allow you to easily add dynamic features—like contact forms, image galleries, or video players—to your pages and posts without needing to write any HTML or PHP.
Animated Donation meter
As your campaign receives donations, the donation meter allows donors to see how your campaign is doing.
The Donate Positive donation form comes with an eye-catching animated donation meter to keep your donors and supporters informed.
And again, each campaign generates its own shortcode for the animated donation meter which you can use on any section of your website.
Designate Donations
This function allows you to split donations up into designations, for example 1 campaign may raise funds but accept different types of donations such as Sadaqa or Zakat. Or if a campaign is made up of different parts, you can designate which part the donor wishes to contribute towards.
Dedicate Donations
Donors can dedicate their donation to a loved one by leaving a message that is displayed on the campaign page. Donor messages also get auto-generated WordPress shortcodes that allow you to display donor messages for specific campaigns anywhere on your charity website.
Donate as an Organisation
As well as individuals, we often get organisation and companies that like to make charitable donations. The Donate Positive WordPress donation plugin comes with an option to enter the details of your organisation or company, so the charity knows the donation is from a company.
Customisable Donation Form
You can easily adjust the colours of the donation form buttons and donation meter to match your charity website branding. No need to learn any special code, simply click and use our colour picker.
Multiple currencies
If your charity accepts donations from abroad, you can switch on the currency switcher to allow donations in Pounds (£), Euros (€) and Dollars ($). This includes the Canadian Dollar and Australian Dollar. We chose these as they are the most common currencies dealt with across the world and often when donations are made in other currencies, they are converted to these currencies before transferring.
Offline and Manual donations
You can add any cash or cheque donations towards an existing campaign or amounts raised elsewhere like on a Fundraising Platform so they can reflect on the one campaign.
Sticky Donate Now Button
This isn’t just a “Donate Now” button which links to the donation page. We’ve created the ability to have campaign specific “Donate Now” buttons which stick to the bottom of the page and float when a potential donor is browsing your campaign. When they click the “Donate Now” button it will load a pop-up version of the donation form.
Unlimited Campaigns
We’ve set no limits to the number of campaigns you can add. Add as many as you like at no extra costs. There are some WordPress Donation Plugins that limit you to 1 campaign and then you must pay to upgrade to add more.
Direct donors to new campaigns
This function automatically shows new campaign on the page of any expired campaigns. So, if a donor clicks a campaign link shared with them at a later date and that campaign has expired, they will be shown the latest alternative campaigns they can support.
Stripe Payment
There are many reasons why Stripe Payment is such a popular option for charity websites. It’s one of the most popular and best merchants, used by majority of fundraising platforms (like JustGiving) and WordPress donation plugins. It’s easy to setup compared to other merchants and offers Apple Pay, Google Pay and even PayPal.
These are some of the great features we are starting with. We are working on many more features and welcome your feedback and feature requests. All new features will be added to the existing plugin so all our charity users can benefit.
